Event Day Low-​down:

The setup started at night around 9.00pm as we had to wait for the event space area to be cleared out. We started by lay­ing the canopies and work­ing on the stage + back­drop while our sound team was putting the beat up and to test. There was some­thing that took place in this event that slowed and chal­lenged the team in the plan­ning process stage.

Allow us to share:-

The mishap was the porta­bles toi­lets were laid wrongly due to mis­com­mu­ni­ca­tion and it turned into a slight has­sle for our work-​force. The toi­lets were too heavy and the truck to lift it just deployed and took off with no sight. To fix this, we had to release the clean water (it was unused, we got away big time!) and drag the “rock like” toi­lets almost a 100m to regain proper posi­tion­ing. This drained much of our crews energy but still result­ing to man­ag­ing and tack­ling the entire issue whilst being attentive.

Note to self: Always final­ize the event area plan lay­out and get a sign-​off to ensure the Event Exec­u­tive or Event Man­ager in charge can fol­low and exe­cute the event man­age­ment as planned. Dou­ble, triple or quadru­ple check if there are any doubts before lay­ing heavy or large objects around.

The next morn­ing the whole show was up and run­ning and the amount of peo­ple turned up was close to one thou­sand five hun­dred peo­ple. The car­ni­val game stalls were a sell­out, ample of food was served as the ini­tial plan was to cater for 2,000 guests. Dur­ing the event, we had hired a drone cam­era to fly and cap­ture aer­ial footages and if you are curi­ous, the footages were absolutely stunning!

There were a lot of prizes and lucky draws that were dished out that day and many went home smil­ing like “fruit­cakes”. We would claim this event a suc­cess and a gen­er­ous teach­ing in sharp­en­ing our craft in order for us to pro­vide noth­ing but the best Event Man­age­ment solutions.
