GRAB Elite Dri­vers Out­ing @ Water­way Villa, Ben­tong, Pahang

We were given 20 days to map this out for the entire “Elite Dri­vers” group and their fam­ily mem­bers to kick back and enjoy this retreat. Elite Dri­vers are peo­ple that work under the umbrella of GRAB Co and have per­formed out­stand­ingly through­out the whole year with major drive counts. This trip was designed for them to relax, enjoy and have fun with their fam­ily mem­bers thus build­ing rela­tion­ships with other Elite Dri­vers along­side their families.

We flagged-​off for this get­away from the GRAB Co head­quar­ters in Petal­ing Jaya at 12.30pm. There were a hand­ful of 70 peo­ple involved and we char­tered 2 buses to accom­mo­date all. The drive took one and a half hours to reach our retreat des­ti­na­tion. Upon arrival every­one was in the mood, wel­come drinks were served, the guest’s and their fam­ily mem­bers were checked in to their respec­tive rooms.

There was a free and easy time sched­ule to let every­one set­tle in and relax before we had our BBQ din­ner. This is when the Ice Cream Events crew along­side the client Mr. Dylan headed out for fish­ing by the river. If you were think­ing that we caught a bucket full of fish for the BBQ din­ner, you’ve guessed wrong! River fish­ing is very chal­leng­ing and if you won­der why, there are actu­ally a few rea­sons. One of them we encoun­tered was that the bot­tom was very rocky and the fish­ing line, hook and bait got stuck eas­ily and we had to cut the line to retrieve it back and start all over again. This kept on hap­pen­ing to us and we wasted a lot of hooks and weights. One thing is for sure, we did our level best and ended up with no fish in the end but smil­ing all the way back to our rooms think­ing how to get it right the next time. There was a scrump­tious din­ner served that night with good vibes every­where and the dri­vers we min­gling, talk­ing, laugh­ing and some were even in the mood for karaoke session.

The event man­aged in Malaysia at Water­way Villa, Ben­tong was indeed a calm and relax­ing venue cho­sen for the client. The sec­ond day before we went back, every­one was involved in ani­mal vis­it­ing + feed­ing and also a trip around the huge farm that had fruits, veg­eta­bles & lots of Ben­tong ginger!

The Elite Dri­ves and their fam­i­lies had a lot of fun, we all had lunch and a group photo before we went back to the GRAB Co head­quar­ters by bus to end the 2 days 1 night relax­ing trip.

We are really look­ing for­ward to the next one, and this time with more hooks and baits for our river fish­ing out­ing if there is.
